Alone or stupid? That is the question…

“Good friends don’t let you do stupid things alone…”

While I do not like staying at the Cardboard Box (the worst backpackers I have ever been to), I do like that post they had… in the kitchen.

Anyway, made me laugh when I saw it and took the picture. Quite true in a way, and made for a good spirit that day.

On first read, you think about those parties where you have been stupid, and that was never on your own… always with a friend…
Then you extend the thinking – you always have a good friend to support you, no matter what you do, stupid or not. But obviously, mainly when it is stupid…

And then, you start to overthink… and analyse… and it can be less funny, but still…

On those days where I felt alone, I have had a thought about that one. Because regardless of the support far away, at the end of the day, I am alone here. And so, I thought of it that way, a little like you can interpret something with sophism*:

You do Stupid things = you are not alone
You are Alone = what you do is not stupid

So… in this case… if I feel alone here this is because I do something not so stupid…

And when everything is good, then you just think about the stupid things.

You can interpret everything in a positive way – as long as you are willing to do so.

So….. Is your glass half-full or half-empty?

*sophism = a clever but false argument, especially one used deliberately to deceive. My best example from my latin days:
A cheap horse is rare.
Something rare is expensive.
So… a cheap horse is expensive.
